Accordingly, since 2015, Barakat Family initiative has been implemented by the Barakat Insurance services company with the aim of identifying and treating rural infertile couples who are living in the deprived and less-developed parts of the country.
Regarding the lack of accessibility to the medical centers for the villagers, difficulty to afford hefty costs of treating infertility and the fact that these services are not covered by the insurance companies, EIKO decided to involve with the treating infertile couples who are living in the rural areas of the country very seriously.
Since the beginning of Barakat Family Initiative in 2015, a total of 9619 infertile couples were identified in the rural areas, cases of 5998 couples were examined and 4552 couples were introduced to the medical centers to complete diagnosis and treatment process.
Conducting 7027 diagnosis and treatment services including clinical tests, x-ray, IUI, IVF, ICSI and preparing the necessary medicines are among the free-of-charge services rendered to the patients. Within three years of this initiative, fortunately 379 newborns have been born across the country.
225 billion rials credit has been considered for Barakat Family Initiative which has been conducted by EIKO and Barakat insurance services company. Barakat Insurance Company not only covers treatment costs of rural infertile couples, but also covers the childbirth costs.
The rural couples, who suffer from infertility problems, can refer to Barakat insurance services company branches across all provinces of the country and take advantage of free-of-charge services of Barakat Family Initiative and they will be introduced to the medical centers to start their treatment process.
In order to realize demographic considerations and policies declared by the Leader about facilitation of forming a family and increasing size of the population in the Iranian society, the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order is working on the Barakat Family initiative through its Barakat Insurance Services Company and it will follow it more seriously in the future.
