Barakat Foundation, [affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order] will generate new employment opportunities for 413 women within the framework of Aftab (Sun) Plan.

Given the above issue, the first Socio-Economic Partnership Contract was inked between Barakat Foundation and Andimeshk Rural Women’s Cooperative Society on June 7, 2017.

Aftab (Sun) Plan is the plan launched by Barakat Foundation in line with uprooting poverty, deprivation and empowering the needy people. For this purpose, Research and Development (R&D) Unit of Barakat Foundation conducted a feasibility study for a yearlong on this plan with the aim of empowering people in socioeconomic terms, uprooting depravity, generating employment and setting up sustainable businesses based on regional advantages.

It should be noted that the said plan was first implemented as pilot in the provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan, Kordestan, Khuzestan and Hormozgan.

Accordingly, upon signing and sealing this contract, it was agreed that Barakat Foundation will generate employment for 413 women breadwinners at Carpet and Rug Weaving Workshop in Andimeshk within the framework of plan to support rural women.

The Socioeconomic Partnership Contract “AFTAB [Sun] Plan” was inked between Barakat Foundation, affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order and Andimeshk Rural Women’s Cooperative Society entitled “Defenders of Modern Carpet Industry Company, consisting of Andisheh Rural Women’s Cooperative Society with more than 1,000 members, costing 58 billion and 650 million rials, in the presence of Deputy Managing Director of Barakat Foundation, governor of Andimeshk, some of senior executive officials and board members of Rural Cooperative Societies of Andimeshk.

Also, it was agreed that 49 percent share of this contract will belong to Barakat Foundation while the remaining share i.e. 51 percent of which will belong to Andimeshk Rural Cooperative Society.

Under the agreement, it is supposed that more than 3,500 square meters of hand-woven carpet will produce and hit the consumer market annually.

It is worth mentioning that AFTAB (sun) Plan has been launched by Barakat Foundation with the aim of warding off poverty, depravity and empowering local communities. In this plan, it has been decided that people will be participated in promotion and materialization of objectives of this plan.
