He made the remarks on the sidelines of his visit to the International Exhibition of Four-Decade Achievements of Barakat Foundation in the fields of agriculture, agricultural processing industries, advanced food technologies, exports and activities of Jihadi organizations.
Over the past years, Barakat Foundation has participated in 345 economic empowerment projects, he added.
Of total 130 remaining companies, 30 of which are busy active in the agricultural sector with the investment capacity of more than 4,200 billion rials, he said, adding, “these 30 companies have created employment for over 2,800 job-seeking people directly.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Eng. Jafari pointed to organizing thanksgiving ceremony of creating 80,000 direct and indirect employment by the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) in late Bahman month of last Iranian calendar year (Feb. 2019) on the occasion of 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and emphasized, “over 60 percent of 30,000 job-creation plan, which has been established in the community-based sector, is related to the agricultural sector and its subsectors.
Since the major activity of the Foundation is focused on rural areas of the country and considering the policies notified by the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order and special emphasis of Head of EIKO Dr. Mokhber, the agricultural sector is of the main areas for the generation of employment especially within the framework of small- and medium-sized plans.
Managing director of Barakat Foundation continued, “we have undertaken to set up and commission about 18,000 job-creation plan in the community-based field, at least 60 percent of which will be allocated to the agricultural sector and its relevant industries.”
Turning to the main reason behind the participation of Barakat Foundation in the International Exhibition of Four-Decade Achievements of agriculture, processing industries, advanced food technologies and exports, he said, “showcasing a part of activities of the Foundation in the field of agriculture and increasing capacity and employment in this field was the main reason behind the participation of Barakat Foundation in this prestigious exhibition.”
Also, participation of the Foundation in this exhibition is an excuse for appreciating activities of the companies working in this field, he said, adding, “some of these companies are busy active in the knowledge-based field in a way that expansion and development of their activities can realize most objectives of the agricultural sector in the country.”
Eng. Jafari termed status of the agricultural sector at the beginning of a 5th decade of victory of the Islamic Revolution in the country ‘important and significant’ and emphasized, “agricultural sector is of paramount importance due to its key role in the gross national product (GNP) and also food security of the country.”
The agricultural industry is the main and basic pillar in the economy of the country, he said, adding, “before being an oil-rich country, Iran enjoyed an economy based on agriculture.”
It should be noted that many agricultural products of the country have still its specific popularity in a way that agricultural products of the country are highly welcomed by certain people in the world.
While emphasizing achievements gained in the agricultural sector of the country in the recent years, he said, “despite a shortage of resources in the country, these achievements and progress are the results of the active presence of talented youth and academic centers in this field.”
It should be noted that the International Exhibition of Four Decades of Achievements in the field of agriculture, agricultural processing industries, advanced food technologies, exports is running at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (congregational prayers site) from Esfand 12 – 14, 139. This exhibition was held at the venue of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the initiative taken by the Leader’s Representative Office, with the main topics of Jihadi management, agricultural productivity, sustainable development, and halal trade.
