Barakat Foundation’s Contribution to Eradicate Unemployment in the Garmsar County
During the trip of Dr. Muhammad Mokhber, President of the Execution of Imam Khomeini Order (EIKO), to Garmsar in the last April, it was decided that a total of 300 billion rials is invested there to create jobs and to eradicate unemployment based on the Barakat Foundation’s economic empowerment models.

In the official council meeting of Garmsar County, President of EIKO has emphasized that this county can be determined as the pilot for development of employment, supporting entrepreneurs and economic empowerment, especially in domestic and rural occupations, across the deprived and less-developed areas; so, EIKO will support this measure, both financially and by providing loans. Hence, more than 300 billion rials will be allocated there based on the economic empowerment model of the Barakat Foundation.

According to a recent report, recently a meeting was held in order to follow up commitments of this trip and to analyze how economic empowerment and job creation initiatives would be implemented in Garmsar County. The meeting was attended by Dr. Asgari Azad, Chairman of Barakat Foundation’s board of directors, Eng. Saeed Jafari, CEO of Barakat Foundation, Dr. Gholamreza Kateb, the MP of Garmsar and Aradan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, executive directors of Garmsar County, general director of Semnan Province Organization for Renovating, Developing and Equipping Schools and a number of deputies and directors of Barakat Foundation.

In this meeting, emphasizing the first priority of Barakat Foundation is to create employment, Dr. Asgari Azad said, “Our activities mostly aim at developing employment. The 300-billion Rials investment plan to develop employment across Gamsar County and its villages will be continued from June 2018 to March 2019.”

Speaking about high-priority jobs of this project, Chairman of Barakat Foundation’s board of directors added, “Certain jobs such as breeding light livestock, producing greenhouse crops, carpet-weaving, producing handicrafts, domestic and rural jobs and society-based economic initiatives are prioritized. Households who can breed light livestock in their villages will be identified; also we will conclude contracts with carpet cooperatives if they accept to guarantee job creation and to purchase the final product of carpet weavers and we will supply their required financial resources. Likewise, with regard to the diversity of conducted measures in Garmsar, it is possible to assign a representative to arrange tasks and to make more coordination with both governmental organizations and entrepreneurs of the region.

According to Chairman of Barakat Foundation’s board of directors, supporting domestic initiatives and domestic economic activities and extending them to industrial workshops are among the priorities of this foundation.

Another speaker at this meeting was Eng. Jafari, CEO of Barakat Foundation, who pointed to the recent trip of Dr. Mokhber to Garmsar and stated, “After this trip, our colleagues have made many trips to Garmsar through two agenda: society-based economic contributions and enterprise economic contributions. The main aims of such trips were analyzing and identifying facilities and economic capacities and talking with authorities, people and entrepreneurs in various parts of Garmsar County.”

He also said “The result of such meetings was explaining models and patterns used by Barakat Foundation in job creation area and economic empowerment. Now, information about activities and economic capacities of each region are in our possession and it has been decided to provide the president of EIKO with them in the framework of a compiled plan within two next weeks.”

“A lot of Barakat Foundation’s activities in Garmsar will be based on “Aftab” and “Aseman” society-based economic models and “Mahtab” loans-based initiative,” he added.

Emphasizing that there are no limits in the employment creation initiatives, he reminded that the availability of supporters to guarantee the supply of raw materials and purchase of the final products and ensuring the producing activities and products in the employment creation initiatives of Barakat Foundation is vitally important which must be considered by authorities of Garmsar County.

Dr. Gholamreza Kateb, the MP of Garmsar and Aradan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly announced about holding several meeting with the Garmsar Governor and perfects of districts after the recent trip of president of EIKO to this county and said, “64 employment creation initiatives with 160 billion rials credit have been considered order to eradicate unemployment in seven villages of Eivanakey and it is predicted that they will bring about jobs for 400 job applicants.”

“Likewise, some meetings have been held in the Garmsar’s official council in order to analyze job creation in the city itself and its central villages and some initiatives have been prepared. Paying 300 million rials loans to each job applicant will move away from any excuse for being unemployed and it can be said that thanks to Barakat Foundation support and measures the unemployment will be eradicated in the Garmsar by the next year,” he added.
