According to the Public Relations Department of the Barakat Foundation, the ceremony for operationalizing the national project of Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town, as the biggest professional pharmaceutical town of the region and unveiling nine new medicines on cell therapy, producing the pharmaceutical raw materials and chemical medicines was held. It was attended by the chairman of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, Minister of Health and Medical Education, Alborz Governor-General and executive directors and a group of national and provincial authorities.
With 400 billion tomans investment from the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, this Pharmaceutical Industrial Town was constructed in a 200-ha land area for establishing many pharmaceutical companies. 54 ha greenery, a channel for directing the superficial waters as long as 6.5 km, two water reservoirs and three water pumping stations along with an Islamic-Iranian Museum garden have been predicted in the Pharmaceutical Industrial Town. The necessary power for this town will be supplied by a special 63kv post and its required gas will be supplied through constructing three Town gas pressure reduction stations the telecommunication of this town has been designed and completed through applying more than 7500 m optical fibers. The average capacity of water purification of this Pharmaceutical Industrial town is equal to 3500 m3/day.
In this ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Mokhber, chairman of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, announced about 120 billion tomans reduction in the pharmaceutical costs and expenses of people with cancers and incurable diseases and reiterated, “we, in the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, are not seeking for gaining profits through producing medicines, while involvement of EIKO with medicine production is sorted out as the EIKO’s social activities.”
Pointing to the fact that opening the Pharmaceutical town will result in the economic growth and prosperity of Alborz Province, Dr. Azizollah Shahbazi, the Governor General of this province said, “Regarding the creation of 7000 direct jobs in this town, the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order has taken a giant step to empower this province, economically.”
“After the inauguration of this town, the pharmaceutical industry of Alborz Province will be revived,” he added.
Dr. Saeed Namaki, Minister of Health and Medical Education, was another speaker of this ceremony who appreciated the efforts of EIKO in the field of healthcare and said, “Our final goal is people’s satisfaction.”
“We need to apply a system to monitor public opinions continuously, in hospitals,” Dr. Namaki said.
