Barakat Foundation Embarks on Empowerment of People in Hormuz Island

In the same direction, the Foundation has embarked on socioeconomic empowerment of people in Hormuz Island, Public Relations Dept. of the Foundation reported.

Moreover, visiting employment, development and infrastructural projects of the Foundation, some projects of the Foundation such as the first hotel on Hormuz Island was put into operation in the presence of Managing Director of Barakat Foundation Eng. Saeed Jafari and Dr. Mahmoud Askariazad Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation.

 

It should be noted that the Barakat Foundation, affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO), has focused on realizing objectives of popular economy, accountability and participation of native people of the region atop agenda since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (ended March 20, 2019) through the provision of a document for warding off deprivation and all-out development and progress of people in Hormuz Island.

Barakat Foundation’s Handicraft Village in Hormuz Island is of these projects that were put into operation at the initiative of the regional people, especially women and also the support of the Foundation according to the empowerment and employment patterns of the Foundation.

 

In the same direction, 17 15-member groups, comprised of women in Hormuz Island, have been established in the island at the unsparing support of Barakat Foundation. These 17 groups have been trained and are busy active in the production of handicrafts.

It should be noted that the products manufactured in Handicrafts Complex of Hormuz Island can be a good alternative for many goods and crafts that are imported into the country via Southeast Asia.

These artistic products have been produced by the women in Hormuz Island. In some cases, these products can be exported to other countries as well.

In the same direction, Barakat Foundation, affiliated to EIKO, has focused on exporting these products to the target markets.

Over the past few months, the Barakat Foundation has played a key role in empowering and encouraging people of Hormuz to carry out economic activities. In this regard, the Foundation has trained more than 1,500 people/hour.

Also, the development of tourism and ecotourism industry has been taken into serious consideration due to the natural attractions of Hormuz Island. Hormuz Island enjoys high capacities and potentials in the field of tourism.

In this regard, the first hotel of the Island was officially put into operation in the presence of Interior Minister RahmaniFazli, Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barakat Foundation.

This equipped hotel has been constructed by the private sector with the financial facilities of Barakat Foundation, costing 22 billion rials.

In continuation of the movement of a generation of employment in the deprived and disadvantaged areas of the country, Barakat Foundation has implemented the job-creation plan within the framework of economic models of “SAHAB” and “ASEMAN” directly on Hormuz Island.

Presently, the unemployment problem has been fully eradicated on Hormuz Island fundamentally and it can be said that this Island needs nonnative manpower.

It is worth mentioning that Barakat Foundation has operationalized these job-generating projects in Hormuz Island with two approaches of identifying backgrounds for the creation of employment and also activation of people of the region on Hormuz Island.

Also, 250 people are busy active on the Island in the field of transporting passengers and travelers.

 

Upgrading worn-out and dilapidated city textures, constructing coastal lines, exchanging water transfer pipelines, lighting, launching tourism and ecotourism houses, etc. are of the salient development and infrastructural activities taken by the Barakat Foundation.

Also, with the special emphasis of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) for maintaining environment and considering the high number of tourists, collecting and sorting garbage and wastes in the Island is underway.

On the other hand, upgrading and renovating coastal line of the Island has been finished and effective steps have been taken for the construction of ring round the island for walking and cycling of tourists. Construction of the ring for walking and cycling will be put into operation by the end of the Iranian month of Ordibehesht in the current Iranian calendar year in 1398 (started March 21, 2019).

Also, for transferring construction materials to the island, Barakat Foundation has embarked on renting a craft landing vessel with the aim of accelerating construction activities.

With yearlong activities and spending over 400 billion rials by Barakat Foundation, this Island will witness a bright and rosy future ahead.

Generally speaking, Barakat Foundation has taken giant strides in the island.
