Barakat Foundation founded this terminal last year at the border of Mehran to provide better and more services to Arbaeen pilgrims, he noted.
Various services are rendered to the pilgrims during the Arbaeen trek in the terminal, he further noted.
Previous years’ surveys have shown that the amount of water in the Border region of Mehran is low in proportion to the pilgrims’ population, he said.
Barakat Foundation, in partnership with the Water Service Company of the Ilam province, has used pipes for 17 kilometers for water supply, construction, and installation of two large reservoirs with a volume of 2,000 cubic meters and 700 cubic meters, he said.
By the measure, the volume of water transferred to the Barakat terminal has increased from 20 to 105 liters per second, he stated.
An area of 3,000 square meters has been dedicated for the pilgrims to have some rest on their way to approach the border, he added.
A health center has also been established in Barakat terminal to provide the pilgrims with the related services, he pointed out.
As many as 144 public restrooms have been constructed in the Mehran region, he pointed out.
He went on to say that 60 stainless steel water coolers have been installed for the pilgrims.
A mobile hospital is to be deployed in the terminal of Mehran border to render the healthcare services to the participants of the Arbaeen procession, he underlined.
