Special attention of Barakat Fundation to rural economy

The closing ceremony of the fifth conference of Barakat employment contractors has been held.

Deputy Head of Presidential Office for Rural Development and Deprived Regions made the remarks in the ceremony, since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution, very effective measures have been taken in infrastructure sectors such as water supply network, road construction and distribution of electricity network in villages.

Amir Hossein Madani went on to say that 74 organizations and institutions are working in these areas.

Barakat Foundation is the only institution that plays role in rural economy, individuals’ empowerment, deprivation and employment in the country's villages in a real and practical way.

Employment is a concern for the residents of the villages, he said, adding that this should be taken into consideration.

Barakat Foundation has been established in response to the Leader’s order to head of Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO) stating: “I’m concerned about solving problems of the deprived classes of the society. For instance, solve problems of 1000 villages completely. How good would be if 1000 points of the country are solved or 1000 schools are built in the country, prepare this organization for this purpose.” In this regard, Barakat Foundation was formed by EIKO on Dec. 11, 2007 in order to act as an organization to uproot deprivation, to realize economic and social empowerment and to carry out public affairs. Relying on the Holy Quran, this foundation was named “Barakat”.
