According to the Public Relations Department of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order’s Barakat Foundation, Dr. Mahmoud Askari Azad, head of Board of the directors of Barakat Foundation, who was speaking in the opening ceremony of the second training course for the socio-economic facilitators of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order’s Barakat Foundation, said that the question is why despite having all necessary facilities, the employment level in the country is not parallel with the people’s needs?
Pointing to the fact that there are three fundamental challenges in the employment discussion of the country, he referred to low percentage of the working people to the total population of the country as the first challenge and explained, “the ratio of our working people to our total population is very low in comparison to the world and even the region’s ratios. Unfortunately, in our country, the number of employments is assessed based on the unemployment rate, while the unemployment rate means how many people are job applicants and we failed to create jobs for them.”
He referred to the low labor efficiency as the main problem of employment in Iran and added, “Another problem, which surely is a fundamental one and also is the reason for why we are here is that there are not certain models and plans for creating jobs in our country. Sadly, lack of jobs in the deprived areas of the country has increased rate of immigration, because job creation capacities are concentrated in the developed parts. As a result, the trend of immigration from villages to small cities and from small cities to the large ones has been increased, as well. The same wrong policy has resulted in decreasing the rural population from 75% to 25% within the past 50 years.”
He also said, “The Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order strategy to design and implement job creation models, and initiatives are even more important than the employment itself. Barakat Foundation’s job creation projects are the result of hours of studies and researches. The sole entities which have worked on job creation and have published their results are EIKO and Barakat Foundation.”
Stressing that ASEMAN, SAHAB, AFTAB and MAHTAB job creation initiatives are various aspects of a model which meet the need in the field of job creation, Head of Board of Directors of the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order said, “Is employment development possible without knowledge, experience, and model? Our principle in the EIKO’s Barakat Foundation is employment, development and deprivation eradication based on using human, social, physical, natural and financial capacities. The first capital on which must be relied are people themselves.”
Dr. Askari Azad referred to the socio-economic facilitator of Barakat Foundation as the messengers of job creation initiatives and models of this foundation and said that we are proud to announce that for the first time in the country we have an organized collection known as the Barakat Facilitators.
Pointing the fact that 405 facilitators of the Barakat Foundation will start to work in the 6000 villages of the country very soon, he said, “In the last year with the help of 200 facilitators we succeeded to implement 10,000 job creation projects in the country whose documents are available now.”
