Barakat Foundation, affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, set up AFTAB (Sun) Plan in line with uprooting poverty in society, the issue of which has been taken into serious consideration by the Foundation.

For this purpose, the Foundation established a Research and Development (R&D) Committee for strengthening activities.

The main mission of the R&D Committee is as follows: identifying, selecting and introducing up-to-date, efficient and effective methods for empowering and uprooting deprivation, focusing on strategy of socioeconomic empowerment, setting up sustainable businesses based on regional advantages, etc.

According to this strategy, compilation of innovative solutions for engaging people and local communities and strengthening their abilities were taken into consideration by Barakat Foundation in order to create sustainable development and promotion of welfare condition of people in disadvantaged and underprivileged areas of the country.

Before the determination of local capacities for doing business, process of empowerment starts in Barakat Foundation’s AFTAB (Sun) Plan, so that people of local communities can play active role in decision-making process and acceptance of responsibility.

Barakat Foundation is of the opinion that overcoming poverty and depravity requires people to enjoy necessary capability for identification of opportunities and environmental restrictions.

AFTAB (Sun) Plan is a coordinated complex, consisting of intellectual basis, executive instructions, infrastructural procedures and management system with the approach based on participation of local communities. Accordingly, Barakat Foundation’s AFTAB (Sun) Plan focuses on identifying development capacities and mobilizing resources.
