An economic participation agreement was signed and sealed for launching Honey Production Plant in Kordestan Province in the presence of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barakat Foundation, governor general and local officials of this province.

The contract was concluded in Kordestan Province Governor Generalship on Wednesday morning for producing and packaging natural honey in this province. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between Barakat Foundation, governor general of Kordestan Province, head of Kordestan Province Agricultural Jihad Department General and Beekeepers’ Union.

Given the above issue, an economic cooperation agreement was concluded on Wednesday August 23, 2017 in Kordestan Province in the presence of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Barakat Foundation, affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini Order (EIKO), governor general of Kordestan Province, managers of provincial department generals and local communities.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barakat Foundation Dr. Askari was the first speaker in the conclusion ceremony of a contract for launching Natural Honey Production and Packaging Plant in Kordestan Province who said: “Increasing honey production volume, empowering economic activities and surviving villagers in villages of this province are the main objectives behind conclusion of this contract.”

 Upon the conclusion of this MoU, it is predicted that more employment opportunities will be generated in this province for job-seeking people, he maintained.

This production plant will be launched as joint venture (JV) between Barakat Foundation [affiliated to EIKO] and Beekeepers’ Union, he said, adding: “49 percent share of this project will belong to Barakat Foundation while 59 percent of which will belong to Beekeepers’ Union.”

In the end, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barakat Foundation Dr. Askarionce again reiterated that this project will generate new employment opportunities for job-seeking people in this province.

Kordestan Province Governor General Abdol-Mohammad Zahedi was the next speaker in this ceremony who pointed to the honey production as salient capacity and potential of Kordestan Province and said: “We have tried to increase honey production volume in this province appropriately. For this purpose, suitable ways have been paved for beekeepers in this province in order to materialize their economic objectives.”

Honey itself has several byproducts, the most important of which is “royal gel”, he said, adding: “Honey also can be used in pharmaceutical and food industries as well.”

In the end, governor general of Kordestan Province said: “By launching this industrial and production plant, the province will be flourished in economic terms.”

For his part, Karim Zolfaqari Head of Kordestan Province Agricultural Jihad Department General said: “It is hoped that high-quality honey, which is produced in this province, can be raised as a leading brand in the country, so that this province can witness a considerable boom in this field qualitatively and quantitatively.”

The location of Natural Honey Production and Packaging Plant will be demarcated in this province shortly after conclusion of this contract, he concluded.
