Owners of 1,300 damaged homes in Hormuzgan quake receive insurance money
Barakat Foundation, affiliated to the Execution of Imam Khomeini Order (EOIKO), pays the remuneration cost for 1,500 damaged homes in villages of Hormuzgan province.

The managing director of Barakat Foundation announcing the news, said that the entire villages in Hormuzgan province are under the coverage of Barakat natural hazards insurance.

Mohammad Torkamaneh said that the owners of 1,300 damages and destroyed homes in the recent Hormuzgan earthquake receive insurance money up to 1,000 billion rials.

He said that those 1,300 homes are in 24 villages of Hormuzgan province.

According to the managing director of Barakat Foundation, the amount of inflicted damages to the homes in Hormuzgan villages is estimated to be around 110 billion rials.

Torkamaneh further stressed that the entire village homes in Hormuzgan province are under full hazards insurance, adding: Recently, after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Barakat Foundation of the EOIKO and the Hormuzgan Governorate, the entire 91,000 village homes all over Hormuzgan province were insured against fire disaster and natural hazards.

He said that the owners of each of those homes receive up to one billion rials of insurance money, in case their homes are damaged or destroyed in quakes, floods, or fire.

Torkamaneh reiterated that 700 million rials of that money is for the repairs and reconstruction of the damaged or destroyed homes, and 300 million for home appliances.

The managing director of Barakat Foundation focusing on insurance hazard coverage for the country’s village homes, said, “One of the special plans of Barakat Foundation in villages and deprived districts of the cities all over Iran is promotion of the insurance culture and offering a supportive umbrella, to provide peace of mind for the villagers and the poor social class in the county in case of occurrence of natural disasters and fire hazard.

He also announced that already 2 million village homes all over Iran are under disaster insurance, including fire, earthquake, explosion, thunder bolts, floods, high river water, volcano eruption, typhoons, whirl winds, as well as the damages due to snow and rain water.

Torkamaneh reiterated, “Up to now the village homes in various provinces, including Lorestan, North Khorasan, Kohgiluyeh and Bouyer-Ahmad, Kordestan, Kerman, Gilan, Yazd, and Hormuzgan have been covered by Barakat Foundation hazard insurance.”

The managing director of Barakat Foundation at the end announced that the foundation’s readiness to insure the entire village homes all over Iran.
