EIKO Renders Relief Services to Flood-Affected People in Lorestan Province
According to the head of Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO), 10,000 sets of home appliances including refrigerators, gas cookers, carpets, moquette (wall-to-wall carpet), utensils, etc. will be donated to the flood-affected people of this province.

In his visit to the flood-affected areas of Lorestan province, Head of Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) Dr. Mohammad Mokhber stated, “we have set up seven bases in the seven flood-affected areas of this province, one of these relief bases is in Lorestan province.”

EIKO has so far distributed essential supplies to the flood-affected people of this province which include: 35,000 mineral waters (PET bottles), 65,00 canned foods, 50,000 loaves of flatbread, one ton of fresh date, 60,000 gunnysacks, 2,000 blankets, two tons of infant formula, serving 4,000 warm foods daily, 4,000 sanitary and hygienic items, required tents, spades (shovels), windbreaker clothes, etc.

Moreover, 1,000 tons of feedstock has been provided to stockbreeders and animal farmers, he said, adding, “required equipment such as spades (shovels), boots, windbreaker clothes, etc. have been sent to the flood-affected areas of this province.”

Also, EIKO has sent to mobile clinics to the flood-hit areas of this province. Presently, EIKO offers quality relief and medical services to the people, he added.

In the same direction, EIKO has provided drugs and medicines to 20,000 patients, the total of which has been sent to the flood-hit areas of Lorestan province, Dr. Mokhber added.

Almost all appliances of houses in Pol-e Dokhtar, Mamoulan and other regions in Lorestan province have been sustained severe damages as a result of devastating flood, he said, adding, “for this purpose, EIKO has decided to send 10,000 packages of home appliances including refrigerators, gas cookers, carpets and utensils to this province in the shortest time possible.”

Moreover, 15,000 packages of stationery will be provided by EIKO, the total of which will be donated to the students affected by flood in this province, he continued.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Dr. Mokhber reiterated, “a number of 500 pumping stations have been either destructed or faced problem across flood-hit cities of this province.”

With the coordination made in this regard, EIKO agreed to give ex-gratia loans up by three million tomans and also seven million tomans as an interest-free loan (Gharzol-Hassaneh) to the owners of these stations, Dr. Mokhber added.

Of the other salient measures taken by the EIKO in this province, it should be referred to the generation of 3,000 employments using the economic and employment empowerment models of Barakat Foundation, affiliated to EIKO, he said, adding, “as soon as the situation becomes normal in these areas, Jihadi groups of Barakat Foundation will be deployed in these areas, so that these 3,000 jobs will be introduced to the people of this province with the National Identification Name and Code.”
