According to the report of Public Relations Department of Barakat Foundation, the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, in the ceremony held for operationalizing the national project of Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town, as the biggest professional pharmaceutical town of the region and unveiling nine new medicines on cell therapy, producing the pharmaceutical raw materials and chemical medicines, Nasrollah Fat’hian, The CEO Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town, said, “with a toman 400-billion investment and dedicating 200 ha land area for construction of this pharmaceutical town, the EIKO is going to transfer the technical know-how and improving the country’s imports in the field of medicines and saving foreign currency. Also, the capability to link the chain of university, industry and commerce in the field of producing medicines has been developed.
He stated hopes that when this pharmaceutical town starts to work, Iran would become one of the pharmaceutical hubs in the region and added that Barakat Pharmaceutical Town is able to create new jobs for experts of this field. Also, about 30000 people will work in this town indirectly.
The CEO Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town said that another purpose of launching this town is reducing the prime cost of patients with cancers and incurable diseases and added: “53% of this town is composed of industrial space, and 27 and 20 percents have been predicted for greenery and for meeting other needs and demands, respectively.”
“54 ha greenery, a channel for directing the superficial waters as long as 6.5 km, two water reservoirs and three water pumping stations along with an Islamic-Iranian Museum garden have been predicted in the Pharmaceutical Industrial Town,” he added.
Pointing to the fact that Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town has been constructed within 2.5 years, Fat’hian said, “100 active companies in the knowledge-based fields can be established there and start to work.”
Appreciating the EIKO for involving with the field of producing medicines, CEO of Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town said, “This involvement and activity is the result of the strategic and sympathetic look of the chairman of EIKO. Basically, the CEO of EIKO starts working in the fields where the private sector is avoiding them or they have a high risk.”
He also pointed to the good response of the private sector to the Barakat’s Pharmaceutical Industrial Town and added, “Before starting the constructional operation of the town, we consult with the practitioners and journalists of this field, and all of them believed that launching this town would be vital and essential.”
