Managing Director of Barakat Foundation Mohammad Torkamaneh said that the Barakat Foundation will construct 200 schools this year.
With the newly-constructed schools, the number of schools in the underprivileged and rural regions will be 2,000 by the end of the year, he added.
Commenting on the steps taken by the Foundation, Torkamaneh said that Barakat has put the construction of 200 new schools with 1,000 classrooms with the priority of replacing conex schools on the agenda, and has allocated 2,000 billion rials to this end.
With the inauguration of these 200 schools, the number of schools will reach 2,000 with 11,000 classrooms by the end of the year 1401, he underscored.
Torkamaneh noted that the share of the Barakat Foundation for the construction of 2,700 schools pledged is 12,100 billion rials, which has already paid 9,150 billion rials of the amount.
Stressing the construction of Barakat-built schools in deprived areas across the country, he underlined that 3,750 villages across the country are covered by the Barakat Foundation's school-building activities.
Emphasizing the school-building movement in the country, he highlighted that Barakat Foundation has launched this movement in the deprived areas based on the Supreme Leader's Guidelines and policies of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order to develop educational spaces and equitable distribution of educational facilities in deprived and less developed areas throughout the country.
He went on to say that the construction of the school is one of the most fundamental and lasting actions of this foundation in deprived areas.
He underlined that 250,000 students are currently studying in Barakat-built schools.
The managing Director of Barakat Foundation concluded that the required schools of the Ministry of Education and the Renovation Organization of the country schools will be built by Barakat Foundation following educational standards and requirements, as well as technical and infrastructure standards.
