According to a report released by the Entrepreneurship Development Deputy Office of Barakat Foundation, affiliated to EIKO, new employment opportunities will be generated for 326 breadwinner women according to a Memorandum of Understanding inked between Barakat Foundation and Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC).

Under the MoU, it is stipulated that Barakat Foundation and IKRC will pay 300 million rials ex gratia loan to each of applicant.

Up to the present time, 100 employment opportunities have been generated while the rest will be generated in the next two months, the report added.

These employment opportunities are in the field of raising and farming light livestock (animal) so that a land area as large as 60 square meters has been considered for keeping and farming the animals.

Generation of business opportunity and fast employment for quake-stricken people of Kermanshah province indicates an acceleration of rendering quality services of EIKO in the deprived and disadvantaged areas of the country.

Also, with the negotiation made between Barakat Foundation and Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC), 500 employment opportunities will be created throughout Kermanshah Province within the framework of a social-based plan entitled ‘HADI Model’.

In this plan, the amount of 300 million rials interest-free loan will be paid to each of applicant and eligible individuals who are introduced and identified by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC) in order to start working in the fields of farming and generating light- and heavy livestock, beekeeping and service works.

The credit considered for implementation of this plan stands at 100 billion rials which will be funded by Barakat Foundation, affiliated to EIKO.

Although Barakat Foundation has been known for its social services and development activities in the society, the Foundation spends major part of its financial resources in the field of generation of employment and economic empowerment in the deprived regions and villages of the country.

With the special emphasis of Dr. Mohammad Mokhber Head of EIKO, generation of employment has been determined as one of the main activities of Barakat Foundation in a way that more than 80 percent of financial resources and credits of the Foundation is spent in this field.

In the five-year strategic program of Barakat Foundation, policies, objectives, and outlooks of ‘job creation’ and ‘economic empowerment’ have been clarified comprehensively.

Accordingly, of total five deputy offices of Barakat Foundation, only one deputy office is active in the infrastructural and development field while its four other deputy offices have been concentrated on the ‘employment and job creation’ including development of social-based entrepreneurship, development of enterprise-based economic partnership, management and planning development as well as development of resources and partnerships.
