Torkamaneh said that since West Azarbaijan is one of the most accident-prone areas of the country, in an understanding with the governorate, all rural houses in the province will be insured for up to one billion rials.
Half of the cost of rural home insurance in West Azarbaijan province will be funded by the insurance of Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order and the homes will be insured up to 1 billion rials for repairing, rebuilding, and supplying damaged household appliances.
Expressing Barakat Foundation’s readiness to insure rural homes throughout the country, Torkamaneh highlighted that Barakat Insurance has so far covered more than 2 million rural homes under the cover of accident insurance including fires, earthquakes, explosions, lightning, floods, river water outbreaks, volcanoes, storms, wind gusts, tornadoes and waste caused by snow and rainwater.
He stated that up to now, rural houses in various provinces of the country, including Lorestan, Khuzestan, North Khorasan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Kerman, Kordestan, Gilan, Yazd, and Hormozgan have received insurance support from Barakat Foundation.
Referring to the initial assessment of the damages of the Khoy earthquake, Torkamaneh highlighted that firstly, the distribution of relief items, blankets, essential equipment, and daily distribution of hot food by the Ehsan Foundation of Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order in the quake-shocked areas has started.
He further noted that the Ehsan Foundation also supplies the majority of household appliances damaged during the earthquake, and the dowry of the brides and grooms that have been destroyed would also be fully compensated.
Pointing to the damage to livestock retention during the Khoy earthquake, he said that through the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Basij organization, 500 destroyed byre in rural areas will be repaired by jihadi groups of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order.
He reiterated that due to the beginning of the cold season in the earthquake-stricken areas of Khoy County, the supply of heating equipment for 1,000 affected households has begun with the participation of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order.
